Rasboras are especially popular for planted aquariums because many species are peaceful, colourful, and look their best in groups. Smaller species such as Chili Rasbora, Phoenix Rasbora, Dwarf Rasbora, and Neon Green Rasbora are excellent choices for mature nano-style aquariums, aquascapes, and shrimp-friendly community setups.
Barbs offer a different type of aquarium energy. Peaceful species such as Cherry Barb and Golden Barb can work well in planted community aquariums, while more active species such as Tiger Barb, Odessa Barb, Mascara Barb, and Denison Barb require proper group size, swimming space, and suitable tankmates.
All Barbs and Rasboras at Topick Aquarium are carefully quarantined and conditioned to our stable local tap water before sale. Although individual species may come from different natural habitats, we prioritize stability, gradual acclimation, healthy feeding, and mature aquarium systems before fish become available to customers.
Most Barbs and Rasboras display their best behaviour, colour, and confidence when kept in groups. For many species, choosing a proper group is not just about appearance — it also helps reduce stress and encourages more natural schooling behaviour.
